Halloween 2010

Happy Halloween from the Madler Family

Halloween was a TON of fun this year because Logan finally understood (for the most part) the concept of trick-or-treating! He had his cousins helping him out by saying "Trick-or-Treat" for him and they ushered him from door to door. Logan was so cute because he wanted to eat each piece of candy as he got it rather than going to the next house for more!

Scooping out the pumpkin seeds

Chuck decided to shove Logan's whole arm into the pumpkin, thinking he would like playing in all the slime....

Logan put up with it for a few seconds...

And then moved on to the littler pumpkin were a spoon worked just fine!

Showing off his pumpkins

Hmmm..... What's in there?

Making a funny pose for Grandma Lori

Logan dressed up as an ARMY soldier this year because his Dad said that he needed a more "manly" costume than the Elmo costume Mom bought him ;-)

Logan agreed because he wouldn't wear the Elmo costume.... even when I bribed him with candy. So ARMY soldier it was - and I have to say he turned out pretty cute!

"Sharing" popcorn with cousin Brayden at the neighborhood Halloween party

Daddy and his little ARMY soldier

So stinkin' cute!

Grandma Lori is down here visiting for a week so Logan is getting tons of one-on-one time which he LOVES!

Halloween was a blast! Logan was able to Trick-or-Treat with his Mom, Dad, Grandma Lori, Auntie Kristin, Uncle John, cousins Kayli, Brooklyn, Kyler, and Brayden, our friends April and Josh and their little girl Blakely!!

What more could a guy ask for?!?!

Happy 2nd Birthday Logan!!

Logan could not hold up two fingers on the same hand, so his very inventive Daddy taught him to hold up one finger on each hand to say he is 2!!

I cannot believe how fast the last 2 years have flown by....

My happy, handsome little boy

Our little family =)

I tried to be creative this year. Logan is very into Sesame Street right now - especially Elmo and Cookie Monster. So I thought cupcakes would be way easier than making a large Elmo cake - wrong! But they turned out pretty good (thank you April & Josh!) and Logan didn't really care!

Blowing out his candles

Logan is so lucky to have a cousin who is only 6 months younger than he is! These two play together so well and I can see them being the best of buds for a really long time! Love you Brayden ;-)

Thank you Auntie Kristin for taking these wonderful pictures and capturing our little Logie-Bear's 2nd Birthday! We love you guys so much!!

Everyday Joys

With a toddler around the house, there is NEVER a dull moment!

Especially when that toddler is an (almost!) 2 year old!!

SILLY boy - he loves putting that bucket on his head

Today Logan decided he wanted to eat guacamole with Mommy...
This happens to be my favorite food and I was pretty sure that he would take one bite and spit it out...

NOPE!! He absolutely loved it!!
(Maybe he is a little like his Mom)

Chuck and I could just sit around all day and watch Logan!
He is into EVERYTHING, learns a new word almost every day now, loves to play with keys and cars, and has a new found love for reading (YEAH!)

Classic - eatin' black olives off your fingers

He is trying to wink and smile at the same time ;-)

I'm not really sure what he was doing in this picture but with Logan, you really never know!

Like any toddler, he LOVES to run around stark naked...

We have been letting him play on a mattress on the floor to get him used to laying on a bed vs in the crib. We are hoping to move him into a Big Boy bed sometime this fall!

Wrestling with his best buddy/cousin Brayden

Logan's favorite pastime - hangin' out on the couch with his iPhone

Logan was helping me make cookies several weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised about how patient he was with me. He waited for me to tell him what to do next and was very attentive. I was shocked that he sat still long enough but at the same time, it made me realize that I don't give him enough credit. If he really wants to do something, he will find a way how. This day he REALLY wanted to make cookies with Mommy!

Measuring out the brown sugar

Dumping it in the mixer like a big boy =)

All grins after licking peanut butter off of the spoon!!

Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.

Montana Trip 2010

Montana Trip 2010
July 3rd - 13th

We just got back from our yearly trip back to Montana, and this year's trip was by far the best one yet!

We were able to spend more time with our families since we were in Montana for 10 days. The first half of our trip was spent in our hometown, Glendive, over the 4th of July weekend with my family. We had an amazing time eating, watching the parade and fireworks, and just enjoying each other's company.

The next weekend we attended the Madler Family Reunion at Fort Peck in honor of Chuck's Grandma Madler. All four of Grandma Madler's children and spouses were in attendance. Along with all of her grandchildren and 16 of the 21 great-grandchildren!! Logan had the best time of his life. He LOVED hanging out with all his cousins, 'driving' the boat, swimming in the lake, making smores, and being loved on by all his aunts and uncles (great-aunts and great-uncles too!).

We had such an amazing time with both sides of our family and it felt somewhat bittersweet to come back to Arizona. We miss our families so much!!

Logan's new Montana shirt!
(It fits him perfectly!)

I understand now why Montana is called "The Last Best Place"

Green fields and blue skies as far as the eye can see!!

Grandma and Logan playing in the race car

This little wooden race car my Dad made me when I was about Logan's age

Blowing Mommy kisses before he drives off

Having fun outside

Uncle Cody was teaching Logan all about fireworks

After a full day of playing outside, Logan cooled off in the pool Grandma bought him....
Montana style....
NAKED!!

Watching the 4th of July parade with Grandma

It was Logan's very 1st parade so he was absolutely enthralled that people actually threw candy to him. What a concept! ;-)

I couldn't get enough of the big blue skies

Makoshika State Park

Our vacation was definitely one to remember!

It was full of fun and laughter and memories that we will never forget!
