Time to adjust my sails

Our sweet little Colby is 3 months old. Which also means time for Mommy to go back to work. I've always struggled when my maternity leave ends and I have to go back to work but this time seemed especially tough! I'm not sure why... So here I am, one weeks back at work, trying to deal with my emotions and adjust my sails.

I am counting my blessings that I have such an extremely hard-working husband who puts in LONG hours at work which allows me the opportunity to work part-time.

I finally have a job that I truly enjoy and I love that I am home by 3-4pm three days a week instead of being gone 13-14 hour days.
I really believe that I have found the perfect balance between working and spending time with my family. Now I just need to get rid of my "mommy guilt" and adjust those sails!

Best Vacation Ever!

Knowing it was my last week of maternity leave and our kids Spring Break from school, I was just itching to get out of the Valley for a few days. Luckily Chuck had some nights at a cabin in the White Mountains that he hadn't used yet from trading mattresses (Thank you R&S!).

We were able to convince Grandma and Grandpa and our Merwin cousins to join us for the weekend! We all stayed in an awesome secluded, peaceful cabin in Greer, AZ. We were surrounded by gorgeous trees with a private lake just down the hill. We spent our days laughing, fishing, playing games, telling stories, geocaching, and making memories!! It was, by far, one of my favorite vacations!!!

I want time to slow down...

The last 2 months have gone by in a blur... I'm going back to work in 2 weeks. Grandma and Grandpa are headed back to SD in 2 weeks. 😩 I just want our days to slow down!

Luckily we have been able to do some really fun activities with the boys while I have been home on maternity leave. We have spent tons of time playing outside, having friends over, and going for walks. We took Logan and Landon to a LEGO tour that was in Phoenix last weekend. It was a cool experience!

Yesterday we attended the annual Kurt Warner's "First Things First" charity flag football tournament. R&S Mattress had a team play again this year so we went to cheer on Daddy and Uncle John. They picked Colin Kaepernick as their QB and ended up winning the tournament!! It was so fun!!

Today we are taking Logan and Landon to Marvel Universe Live!! It's a live, action packed show full of superheroes- right up our boys' alley!! While we have been attending all this cool stuff in town, Grandma has been getting lots of snuggles in with Colby. We are SO thankful for all her help this winter so we can go to this stuff. She has been a lifesaver!!!

Our sweet little baby boy is now 10 weeks old! He is a smiley, happy, laid-back little guy, even when he caught RSV 2 weeks ago! We have been blessed beyond measure ❤️
