One Year Old

What is a One-Year Old?
Author: Unknown

A one-year-old son
is so many things,
a tiny discoverer of fluttering things,
a snuggler of teddies,
a sweet sleepyhead,
and someone to dream for
in bright years ahead…
A special new person
who, right from the start,
has a place in our family
and, of course, in our hearts.
And, just when we think
that we’ve learned all the things
that our dear son is
and the joy that he brings,
a hug or a grin
comes with such sweet surprise
that love finds us smiling
with tears in our eyes!

We love you so much Logan!

Why God Made Little Boys

Why God Made Little Boys

God made a world out of His dreams,

of magic mountains, oceans and streams,

Prairies and plains and wooded land.

Then paused and thought

I need someone to stand, on top of the mountains,

to conquer the seas, explore the plains

and climb the trees.

Someone to start out small and grow,

sturdy and strong like a tree and so

He created boys, full of spirit and fun

To explore and conquer, to romp and run

With dirty faces, and banged up chins

With courageous hearts and boyish grins.

And when He had completed the task He'd begun,

He surely said, "That's a job well done."

As Logan's 1st birthday is drawing near, I find myself feeling sad that he is already turning one. I think of how much he has changed in the last 12 months and the memories are bittersweet. But I am also feeling excited for all the days ahead of chasing a spunky toddler around the house....with big blue eyes that can melt you heart in an instant.

Ahhh.... the times to come!

But the last 12 months have also made me realize how amazing God truly is.
He gave us this wonderful, full-of-life, healthy, loving little boy to raise... US!!

Some days I doubt my abilities as a "good" mother....
and then I get one of Logan's open mouth, slobbery kisses.
I guess we are doing a pretty good job, so far....

Quick Update

I'm not doing a very good job of keeping this updated. We have been quite busy the last month so I will just give a quick update...

* Chuck is now working out at the warehouse with John and he is loving it. He goes to work at 6am and is home by 3-4pm so we get to spend the evenings together. We also both have off Saturdays so that is our family time :-)

* I applied to college (yes, AGAIN!) to finish my Bachelor's degree in Nursing so that I can continue on for my Masters. I was accepted and will start an online program in January. I am still working full-time on my post-surgical unit - I have been there for 3 years now!

* Logan is officially walking. He still cruises or crawls most of the time. But now he will stand up on his own and take 3-4 steps before sitting back down again. He babbles non-stop and is a force to be reckoned with. He will let you know if he doesn't like something~

Since he started daycare a month ago, we have been battling a nasty flu virus. He went to the doctor yesterday and the doc wants Logan to have a chest x-ray because he has a rattle in his chest. We went this morning and Logan was a champ ~ he didn't even cry! We will know the results in the next day or two.

That is the last month in a nutshell. I will be posting alot in the next few weeks as we have a BIG occasion coming up.... Our little baby boy is turning ONE on the 28th!! This last year has been so amazing and joy-filled that I can only imagine what we have in-store for us this coming year!!
